The Akron Area YMCA, in cooperation with Akron Community Foundation, Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron Public Schools, and Akron Recreation Bureau is committed to providing YMCA’s “Safety Around Water” program to all Akron Public School students through the 4th grade.
But, funding the program will be a stretch.
Will you help? Your donation of
$100 WILL help ONE child fully participate in the program.
$50 WILL help purchase the appropriate swim goggles, towel and bathing suit for ONE child to participate.
$25 WILL help purchase a bathing suit for ONE child in the program.
Larger donations mean more children SERVED – and SAVED. Please consider a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation of $1000, $500 or $250.

Black History Month, celebrated each February, has its roots in Chicago's South Side at the the historic Wabash YMCA. In 1915, a group of African-American intellectuals led by historian Carter G. Woodson of Washington, D.C., formed an association to promote black history, which they felt had largely been ignored or misrepresented by scholars.
