Youth and preschool Programs
The YMCA offers a variety of preschool and youth programs for all ages. The YMCA is dedicated to offering fun, positive activities that build athletic, social and interpersonal skills.
Children can take age-appropriate programs such as Wee Tumblers, Tiny Fitness, Discovering Art, Ballet, CheerNatstics, Baton Twirling, Yoga, Creative Movement, Teen Boot Camp, Dodgeball, CATCH [youth obesity prevention program], Basketball, Running Club, Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, T-ball and much more! Programs take place in the Field House, outside, and in classrooms.
- 1-3 Years Old - Wee Tumblers, Wee Fitness, Wee Music Makers.
- 3-5 Years Old - Tiny Fitness, Tiny Tumblers, Show Tikes, Story & Activity Time, Sporties for Shorties, Lil Dribblers, Lil Sluggers, Lil Kickers, Tennis Tots, Creative Movement, Kid's Yoga, Lil Kickers, Lil Stars, Lil Rah Rahs, Ballet, Superhero Training, Princess Adventure, Preschool Arts & Crafts.
- 6-9 Years Old - Dodgeball, Youth Basketball, Youth Basketball League, Kid's Yoga, Indoor Soccer, Soccer Camp, Flag Football Clinic, CATCH, Baton Twirling, Home School Arts & Crafts, Discovering Art, CheerNastics, Basic Tumbling, Running Club, Ballet, Tap Dance, Zumba Kids, Basic Dance, Tennis, Ultimate Sports, Backyard Sports, Kid's Story, Youth Wrestling, Rising Stars.
- 9-12 Years Old: Dodgeball, Kid's Yoga, Kid's Boot Camp, Kid's Cycling, Home School Arts & Crafts, Girls Who Can, Running Club, CATCH, Baton Twirling, Volleyball, Basic Dance, Tennis, Kung Fu, Jazz, Jazz 2, Writing Club.
- 13-16 Years Old: Teen Boot Camp, Teen Yoga, Teen Cycling, Teen Strength & Conditioning, Volleyball, Kung Fu, Dance Cardio, Aspiring Actors Workshop.
- Family Classes (6-99 Years Old): Family Fitness.
New Summer Youth Camps (registration online and in-house now open!):
Ages: 9 - 14yrs on Monday, July 10th - Thursday, July 13th from 6:15 - 7:30pm
$30 Members and $60 Program Members. Developmental camp that allows all skill levels to learn the game of volleyball. This class works on the fundamentals and rules of the game so each athlete can improve his or her own techniques and skills.
Ages: 9 - 14 years on Monday, June 12th - Friday, June 16th from 4:00 - 5:00pm or Monday, August 7th - Thursday, August 10th from 4:00 - 5:00pm
$30 Members and $60 Program Members. Athletes will begin learning the basic skills of tennis. They will learn different stroke techniques, footwork, serving, and also teamwork. This class is intended for beginner tennis players. All players need a racquet. Tennis balls will be provided for the class.
Ages: 5 - 7 years old on Tuesday, July 11th - Friday, July 14th from 10:00 - 11:30am
$30 Members and $60 Program Members. This program focuses on the fundamentals of soccer through drills, games, and activities. Players will continue to develop their soccer skills and become a better teammate during the camp as well.
Ages: 5 - 9yrs on Monday, June 26th - Friday, June 30th from 10:00 - 11:30am
Ages: 9 - 14 years old on Monday, July 10th - Friday, July 14th from 10:00 - 11:30am
$30 Members and $60 Program Members. Come and join us for a drama workshop! This camp will provide drama exercises and games to build acting skills such as characterization, movement, pantomime, and improve; short scenes to teach reactions, timing, and working with others to create a story. Camp will also practice for a final performance and get a sneak peak to behind-the-scene tech jobs.
Jump Rope Camp
Ages: 7 - 12 years old on Monday, July 31st - Thursday, August 3rd from 4:00 - 5:00pm
$20 Members and $60 Program Members. Jump Rope Camp is designed to help jumpers learn jump rope beginner through intermediate single rope, pairs, and long rope skills. This camp will focus on building character and leadership skills offering a positive environment that encourages jumpers to progress at their own pace. Jumpers will have an opportunity to work with a World Jump Rope Champion.
Leagues and Ages:
- 3-5 Years Old - Small Stuff Soccer League (Late February - Mid April).
- 5-10 Years Old - Futsal Soccer League (Late February - Mid April).
- 5-12 Years Old - Youth Basketball League (January - February).
Ages: 5 - 8 years old on Saturdays from 9:45 - 10:30am and 9 - 12 years old on Saturdays from 10:45 - 11:30am
Cost: $30 Members/$60 Program Members
Special Needs Activities Program. This program will help individuals with developmental disabilities to learn and play various activities, sports, and fun movements. In addition, allow for the opportunity to socialize and learn new skills while making friends that will last a lifetime.
Youth Wrestling Program
Led by Hall of Fame Wadsworth High School Wrestling Coach John Gramuglia & Assistant Coach Clay Wenger
Ages: Boys 1st - 6th grade
Cost: $30 Members/$60 Program Members
Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays from October 23rd - November 8th, 2017 (6 classes)

This unique opportunity allows youth to work with the premier wrestling coaches from Wadsworth High School to help develop wrestlers. Meet at the YMCA.
- Developing skills to become better overall athletes.
- Promotes teamwork, self discipline and wrestling techniques.
- Focus on tumbles, footwork, rules and fundamentals of wrestling.
- Along with pinning combination, escapes and key nutrition components.
Futsal Soccer League: kindergarten - 3rd grade (Co-ed)
*Specialized indoor soccer program using a weighted ball.

Practice one evening per week (Monday - Friday at 7:00pm) and games on Saturdays (between 11:30am - 4:30pm). This developmental league is designed for all levels! Practice will involve teaching soccer fundamentals through drills and fun games. Games will be played in the YMCA Field House. Children will be divided into teams accordingly. Team shirts are included in the program cost. Team pictures (and individual pictures if desired) will also be conducted by Glen Rutherford Photography. Kindercamp is a 6 week program offered in the Summer. The weeks vary June - August. Children ages 3-5 years old have the opportunity to make a craft, play outside, tumble, read a story, socialize and make memories for their summer!
In addition, they students will learn new skills to prepare them for Preschool and/or Kindergarten. As your child (ren) learn with us, you can take this opportunity to have some quality you time!
*Maximum of 15 participants per week. Don't delay!
Tuesday - Friday this program is offered from 9:30-11:30am. The cost is $30 for Members and $60 for Program Members.
*Participants may be signed up for just 1 week or all weeks. It is completely up to you and your family!

Summer playground program
Location: Central Intermediate School (CIS)
When: Monday - Thursday 9:30am-12:00pm (June 12th, 2017 - July 20th, 2017)
Ages: 6-12 Years Old
Cost: Free. (Children must live in the City of Wadsworth and be present from 9:30am-12:00pm.)
Children will have fun playing Indoors and Outdoors with arts/crafts, games and sports. While making new friends!
Registration: Registration opens on April 23rd, 2017 (In-House). Parent must register each child and sign all waivers to participate. Children will need to be signed in/out each day unless the waiver to walk home has been signed. Registration is Free for all who attend.
This is a collaborative effort between the City of Wadsworth and the Wadsworth YMCA. Register at the YMCA or the site upon drop off on the first day. This program is not affiliated with the Wadsworth City Schools.
